Poetry: The Storms of Life

The Storms of Life
Written Feburary 3, 2005
By Ashley Lanea Brubaker

I’m a child of God,
He is the love of my life.
I’m wrapped in His mercy
And kept by His grace.

He is my Deliverer,
My Redeemer,
My Shield and Buckler,
And my Best Friend.

No evil shall befall me,
With Christ on my side.
He will put to flight
The fiery darts of the wicked.

He will put to flight
The lies of the evil one,
The loud roar of the lion,
Who seeks after our soul.

If we only trust Him,
All things will become clear.
The trials and oppressions
Will certainly disappear.

And in those times of darkness,
We must ask not why it happened,
But seek to learn all we can from it.
For by it, we will be made stronger.

The Lord will not give us
More than we can bear.
His strength will sustain us,
Through every trial and fear.

The power of God is an awesome thing.
There is power in His blood.
There is victory in Jesus’ Name,
When we lay our burdens at the foot of the cross.

He will set us free and
Wash us as white as snow,
In the beauty of His holiness,
In the peace that passeth all understanding.

He hath caused His light
To shine upon thee.
Let your heart rejoice
And be glad.

Praise the Name of Jesus!

Psalm 18:2 “The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”

Psalm 31:24 “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.”

Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”
