(As a result of a vision the Lord showed me, here follows the message and then the vision).
Many are the distractions, many are the distractions to my people–to my children who are on the broad way. For on the broad way there is much room to do many things–to turn to the left and to the right, to speak much with many other children, to have discourse and discuss many things, consuming and wasting the time instead of spending time with Me and waiting before Me. Seemingly, the distractions appear to be good–a good thing, a good work, a Christian work, but it is nothing more than a waste of time and a subtle deception of the enemy. Contrarily, on the narrow road–on the narrow way, there is neither room to turn to the left or to the right but only room enough to go straight ahead–to walk on, to press in and through, to keep the eyes straight ahead. There is no room to turn to the left or to the right!!! There is only room for inner strength and an operating mind to be strict–to be exact–to be holy–to be pure–to be zealous in being committed to the Lord, not to others, not to attractions and pulls and desires, but to the desire of the Lord unto His good pleasure.
In the spirit I saw two different paths. One was a narrow path and the other one was broad. The narrow path actually reminded me of a tunnel. There was one believer on the narrow path and this believer had no room to do anything else but to move forward with his face set as a flint. The believer was filled effort and determination, having a single eye, with self-denial, on the path of the cross, fully committed to the Lord. The believer actually just fit on this narrow path. This way seems hard, but it is the satisfying way, both to the believer and to the delight of the Lord.
Then I saw the broad way with many, many people spread all across the road. They had much room to move around in all directions and they seemed to have no awareness of committal or of the preciousness of time or of any danger to them or any such thing! They seemed alive and very talkative and active but oblivious to anything else other than in whatever they were presently caught up. Neither did they have the single eye or intensity for the Lord as they were not aware of Him at all! Their concentration seemed to be on one another and in their excitement and busyness they were lost to anything of reality and truth! This way appears exciting and active (and in the flesh, it is) but it ever goes round and round with all its specials and concerts and meals and programs…and ever more and more and ‘new’ programs! All in the name of Christianity and fellowship. Many times people in these groups never even connect with another believer to have any real fellowship in Christ even though they may be talking to one another. And certainly, prayer is very low, if at all on the list! It’s a merry-go-round that never stops!!! Only the Lord can give the sincere believers who have an open door in their hearts the light to awaken and get off before it’s too late! This way is really dissatisfying both to the people and especially to the Lord.
Exodus 34:14 “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.”
Deuteronomy 4:24 “For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.”
Isaiah 50:7 “For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.”
Ezekiel 39:25 “Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name.”
Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Luke 13:24 “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”
Luke 9:23 “And He said to them all, if any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
Philippians 3:13-14 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
